You have to be extremely careful of whom you let in your inner circle and whom you let influence you. I like to think in terms of how people contribute to my life as well as how do I contribute to theirs. I feel that this should be mutual for both parties, too often people latch to others for their own advancement and part soon after they have gotten what they wanted. Of course it's easier to stand with the crowd than to be alone but sometimes you have to do what you must to advance yourself. What is important to you, a lot of the time, isn't necessarily important to the masses. Following the crowd mutes your individuality and suppresses your true potential.
I understand that comfort is found in numbers, however when it comes to accomplishing and going that extra mile, you might be hard pressed to find people whom are willing follow through with you completely. Success sometimes means waking up early and going to bed late. Success is sacrifice. I think it's important to have like-minded people around you, they can help keep you on your A- game. In short, be cognizant, be aware, be awake.
